On 10th June 2026, the High Commissioner, Ekitela Moru was awarded the winner of AsiaOne Diplomatic Excellence Award at the 27th AsiaOne ASEAN Summit held at the JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The award was in recognition of his outstanding efforts in strengthening Kenya–Malaysia diplomatic relations as well as advancing trade, tourism, investment, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
