High Commissioner's Message

H.E Ambassador Francis Ndegwa Muhoro

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the High Commission of the Republic of Kenya to Malaysia with accreditation to Brunei Darussalam.

Diplomatic relations between Kenya and Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam were established in 1963 and 2008 respectively. The High Commission of the Republic of Kenya in Malaysia was opened in 1996 while the accreditation to Brunei, Darussalam was established in 2008 to implement Kenya’s Foreign Policy objectives and strengthen Kenya-Malaysia and Kenya-Brunei bilateral relations in economic, social, education among other areas.

It is my sincere hope that you will find the website and its linkages useful for getting information about Kenya, trade and investment opportunities, travel and tourism as well as consular services offered by the High Commission.

Kenya is geo-strategically located at the confluence of the Great Lakes Region, Horn of Africa, and the Indian Ocean contiguity, making it a gateway to Africa’s major trading blocs such as the East African Community (EAC) the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and indeed the larger African market comprising of 1.4 billion population in the context of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

It offers one of the best investment climates in the wider East African region with limitless Trade and Investment opportunities. In addition, Nairobi is a regional hub of economic and multilateral diplomacy. It hosts one of the four United Nations Offices and numerous international and inter-governmental organisations.

The website is continually updated to transmit relevant Government information for the Diaspora, investors and those planning to travel to Kenya. I, therefore, welcome all to engage the High Commission through the contacts given on this website. In the same vein I urge all Kenyans in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam to register with the High Commission to allow the High Commission to assist you more effectively and efficiently.

  Asante and karibu!
