Kenya High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ambassador Samori Okwiya remarked that Malaysia imported black tea worth US $ 17.79 million, in 2008 and Kenya only accounted for 5.1% of the total import; hence the Mission will continue engaging different stakeholders to increase tea exports through addressing tariff and non-tariff barriers with the South East Asia Countries.

The event generated a lot of interest, as evidenced by many trade inquiries on various tea samples displayed.

Guests were given tea gift packs which also included tourism promotional materials.

Guests enjoying authentic Kenyan tea served with snacks during the tea party.
